About Channel Crossings
Channel Crossings is an independent music label and creative platform exploring connections between sound, culture and place.
Founded by artist and electronic music producer Uusikaupunki, the label releases original music while developing events, broadcasts and creative collaborations that bring together artists, audiences and ideas.
The name Channel Crossings refers not only to journeys across the English Channel, but also to the idea of crossing itself. A crossing is a liminal space: neither where you started nor where you are going. It is a place of transition, reflection and possibility.
For us, that idea extends beyond geography. Music, art and creativity often exist in similar spaces, between genres, cultures, technologies and ways of thinking. The most interesting discoveries are often found in these in-between places, where boundaries become less certain and new connections emerge.
The name Uusikaupunki, Finnish for "New Town" or "New City", reflects a similar interest in movement, reinvention and cultural exchange. These ideas sit at the heart of Channel Crossings, informing the music, events and projects we present.
Based between London and the South East of England, Channel Crossings aims to create opportunities for discovery, connection and creative exchange through music, events and collaboration.
